(Transcribed audio:) N: Hey everyone, I'm Nicole. B: I'm Brynn.
N: We are going to be answering some questions from a q+a, and so we're really excited. You guys have been super awesome! We love our community! Thanks for supporting us! Brynn is going to be reading the questions and dictating who's answering what.
B: Okay, what inspired us to open and to Modern Mindbody Massage + Float?
N: Okay, so both of us worked for a place before we opened our place. There were things that they were doing at this other place that we were, like, "you know what?-- we could do this... better!" Just make it a better place where massage therapists felt really loved. They felt cared for.
Same with clients ... we just wanted a place that felt really good, and the atmosphere was so good that when you walked in the door, you can feel the difference in our space. So that's kind of what inspired us to start.
B: We kind of already answered this one. What makes Modern Mindbody different from other wellness clinics?
Well, one of the things that makes us different is we are sisters-- siblings that co-own it together, and so I guess that's something that really stands out.
Also, that we are massage therapists ourselves.
N: I think also, just to add a little bit to that, we have different amenities than most massage clinics. Most massage places like, do massage and esthetics--which we do too, but, most of them, just do that. And then, if they are more like a Spa, and it goes into manicures and pedicures, all of that.
But for us, we're more on the wellness side of things. And so, we have a lot of cool amenities that no one else has. We've got the float pods, we've got the infrared saunas and the cold plunge, so you can do contrast therapy, so that's something that makes us stand a little bit a part too.
B: Oooh. Which service is your personal favorite and why?
N: Do you want me to answer first? I'll start... besides massage. All of the amenities are so good, and they have different purposes. My favorite probably... besides massage-- Disclaimer: besides massage!! Is the float pod, and I found that every time that I'm getting super stressed, super angry.
Like, if I am getting angry for several days in a row... (grumpiness-ahh, sorry, husband), or um, like, super just emotional for no reason. The float pod just makes me feel like so much better. It doesn't matter what's going on or how much junk is in my head or whatever, like float pod1000%.
So that's my favorite amenity.
B: If I had a pick, I'd probably say a trigger point therapy massage specifically in my neck shoulders area. I get a lot of headaches, so that really helps me.
N: What do you wish more people knew about taking care of themselves?
B: I would call it a process of learning. Especially with, like us, we are moms, and so a lot of our focus needs to be on our little beans running around.
So, taking the time to make sure that we also take care of ourselves, so we're able to take care of others. If you're feeling drained, you should just do something for yourself.
N: Take the time to do it, I think also, like, even if you do, take the time to come and get a massage, do a float pod, whatever it is you're doing, just recognizing that, that's such a small service and it's such a small time frame, and so doing things at home, like the stretching and things like that also will be a game changer.
If you take the time to actually do the things that we recommend. You'll feel great.
N: What's one thing you hope every client feels when they leave your clinic? B: A form of relief, and in some cases, hope. There's some people they come in, and they're like, "I have had this pain forever," and then being able to massage them or they do a float pod, and they come out and they're like, "that was amazing. I feel so much better" or "Man, I just can't believe that we're able to work on that."
So, just any form of relief.
That is what I hope for people when they are leaving.
N: I agree.
B: Ditto.
N: Ditto. Relief.
